An optical dipole trap for dual-species atom interferometry with Rb and K quantum gases on a sounding rocket

Ultra-cold atom sample preparation for dual-species atom interferometry using optical dipole traps (ODTs) in combination with extended µg times aboard a sounding rocket offers promising tools to test the Einstein Equivalence Principle in a not yet reached precision. We report on the design and performance of our flight-qualified dipole trap laser system and present results of loading a 87Rb BEC from an atom chip based trap into the ODT.
